I knew it was a river surfboard when I saw it leaning on Gerry’s shaping room wall. When he told me that it was a master model for a Surftech soft-top river surfboard, I immediately said I wanted to sell it.

We tested the prototype daily on the Deschutes River wave in Bend, Oregon. The routine was to loan the River Boat to surfers of different skill levels and body weights. Even first-time river surfers got a go on the board, which meant it took some heavy hits on the concrete wall and gnarly nose dives into the wave ramp. Because of the extreme throttling the prototype took, I can attest that the River Boat soft-top is repairable like a standard construction surfboard. Even the fin boxes can be replaced.

The Gerry Lopez Surftech River Boat is a soft-top surfboard specifically designed for river surfing but would be equally appropriate for wake surfing and wave pools. Featuring a hard ABS bottom and EVA foam covered deck, the River Boat hits the sweet spot between performance and durability.  Comes with 5 Future fin boxes and fins.
